Sealants, crowns & fillings.

If you’re like most Americans, you probably have a filling or two in your mouth. Cavities are hard to avoid. But Dr. Bill can work with you to help your child avoid cavities during the formative years. And if he or she does get a cavity, Dr. Bill can put in fillings that are as painless and invisible as possible.
A cavity is formed when food particles get lodged between teeth and inside tooth crevices. For particularly deep crevices, this can pose a potential problem – even under the best brushing and flossing conditions. Therefore, Dr. Bill may suggest a sealant to protect your child from a cavity.
Sealants are made of a clear or shaded plastic that is applied to a tooth. Sealants are like a filing, but are only applied to the outside of the tooth to “seal” out food and plaque. Your child will be able to chew and talk normally with sealants. And while they will still need to brush and floss normally, the sealant will help ensure that specific teeth are not infiltrated by cavities.
If your child does get a cavity, Dr. Bill can help. Today, we have the option of silver and tooth-colored fillings. Of course, the process for filling a tooth is the same: clean the tooth, drill out the cavity, fill in the empty part of the tooth with the filling. But Dr. Bill knows how to ease your fears and those of your child. And he knows how to make it as painless as possible.
Call Dr. Bill today and set up an appointment. If you think your child might have a cavity, or is complaining of mouth pain, call 541-672-5535. Dr. Bill’s team will keep you and your child smiling before, during and after your dental visit.
