The First Treatment

Do you remember the first time you went to the dentist? Chances are, you were probably a bit afraid. With pediatric dentistry, that fear is quickly dispelled for today’s children.

Dr. Bill’s office helps alleviate anxiety. The minute a child walks in the door, they’re greeted by friendly, trustworthy faces. Everyone that works for Dr. Bill loves kids. And it shows. Kids warm up quickly to their playful banter and inviting tones of voice.

We love “show and tell.” Once a child is seated for treatment, a game of show and tell ensues. Dr. Bill and his assistants will show a dental tool to a child and then demonstrate how it works. By understanding the device, children often forget their fears of it.

Mom and dad can come too. Of course, we welcome parents to accompany their child to the dentist chair. Having mom or dad there can help alleviate a lot of worry.

The fist treatment is mostly exploratory. The most we will do in the first treatment are x-rays, plaque removal and maybe a polishing. It’s important to keep the first visit positive so the child will be excited about his or her next visit.

After a quick phone call to Dr. Bill’s office, both you and your child will probably feel a lot better. To talk with a caring, dental professional and schedule your child’s dental appointment, call 541-672-5535.
